Wow--so many rainforest birds here! There is a botanical gardens that is a bird sanctuary in the middle of Georgetown. I took a tour with a bird watching guide. Very very knowledgeable, knows them by their call, their way of flying, and by sight. Woke early to get there at sunrise when the birds were just waking up. Soon it was just ALIVE. Also told that in the sanctuary were Manatees, but didn't see them, just their movements through the murky water.
Guide. Andy Nurine.
Woodpecker through spotting scope.
Manatees!!

Parrots!
Birds!!!
Very nice tour, although it does turn out that bird watching has the same effect on me as being on a boat in the gulf of Alaska. Couldn't look through the spotting scope or binoculars for long.
Short day at hospital, just a few ultrasounds (! Twin surprise!) and my surgeries are doing well.
Will skip market today and nap instead.
Cool pictures! What a neat place to visit!
ReplyDeleteWow! Amazing pictures of birds! The gardens are lovely. Mom
ReplyDeleteLineated woodpecker, I think, if my Google skills are correct! Pileated Woodpeckers are in North America and Lineated Woodpeckers are in South America. The birdwatching looks really, really cool. Did you have to wake up at 4 a.m. or something like that?
