Thursday

Dr. Sukraj (Ob resident) hard at work.

Wish our hospital would have this policy.

Buddy's gym

Aerobics at Buddy's gym tonight:

Instructor wanted us to "work our assets". She was mean!  Ray and Joey, think "dance class".

Buddy's nightclub, tire shop, taxi stand, Chinese restaurant, and gym.

Very good workout, and a fun night.

Quiz night

Went to quiz night at Cara Lodge, named our team the "Guyana-cologists".  The lodge had a courtyard around this old tree:

Got 10 of 10 of the final round, thanks to Joey (circle all of the country capitals):

Did not get the questions right about  football clubs and famous cricketers in previous rounds, tho.

Rainy day

Rained all night, heavy, and today parts of the city are under a few inches of water.

Here is outside maternity hospital.

Today is Mohammed's birthday, so a national holiday, most stores and restaurants closed.

Rainbow this evening, outside our housing:

3 surgeries today, bunches of ultrasounds and preparing lecture for tomorrow.  😊

Nat Geo

Came across this in the Stabroek News

ok family?  Are you with me?  Ready for an Eco adventure in the rainforest?

I also agree with the statement lower down:

Sunday

Sunday gets pretty quiet in Georgetown. Went to the Bourda market with Lulu, then had an emergent surgery and some C Sections. Fun day!

Surgeon's lounge:

Coconut water

Some cute critters:

Then to dinner. I shut my door of the taxi with great enthusiasm when leaving briefly to buy mangos, and the taxi driver told my dinner mates "I hope she has a young husband to keep up with her energy" ;)

Mammy

Two more pics:  Dr Evans and Dr Zhang in Gyne ward hallway.

She is a global health fellow who is coordinating the Ob/gyn residency right now. He is our can-do Chinese doc.

Went to the smaller market to get more fruits & veggies, and picked up mammy fruit.
It is the brown fruit in the middle. Maybe will try it for breakfast. Just peel, slice  and eat, avoiding seeds is what the fruit seller told me.
